Palm tree's....check, Gorgeous weather....check.
Not exactly what I consider tropical travels but for a quick weekend away from the cold of winter, Arizona is a wonderful choice. We are lucky enough to have a direct flight. One hour 45 minutes to a destination with plenty of nice resorts, spa's, golf courses, shopping, rock climbing, dune buggies or horseback rides through the desert and restraunts galore, or in my case, just hanging out by the pool and soaking up some Vitamin D!
Arrived into Phoenix/Mesa gateway airport, got a car and headed down the road to Scottsdale. About a 30 minute drive and we pull into the absolutely beautiful Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa at Gainey Ranch. I could already feel myself relaxing. Upon check in we were offered a margarita. (Of course I said yes) Checked in and unpacked just in time to clean up a bit and enjoy some time at the lobby bar with a glass of wine, watching the sun setting behind the palm trees, huge saguaro cactus and distant mountain range.
Followed by an amazing dinner at the resorts South West Bistro and a little music at the Center Stage Bar afterward. Great start to a relaxing weekend.

Don't feel like lounging....There are plenty of fun things to keep you busy |
